Hi John,

Ridglan Farms is a factory farm for dogs. It is one of the largest breeders of beagles for experimentation in the nation, raising thousands of sensitive, social animals in small cages and subjecting them to cruel experimentation.

There is a
critical court date this Wednesday in our fight to hold Ridglan Farms accountable for their crimes against animals and you’ll have a chance to watch the proceedings unfold in real time!

Here’s what’s happening:
  • In 2017, DxE investigators documented widespread abuse and neglect inside the facility. They also openly rescued three beagles named Julie, Lucy, and Anna, and three activists were subsequently charged with felonies for the rescue.
  • Earlier this year, the State of Wisconsin dropped all charges against these rescuers. This happened at Ridglan’s request because the company no longer wanted a trial and all the attention it would bring.
  • Determined to seek justice for the thousands of dogs at Ridglan, former defendant Wayne Hsiung and local organization Dane4Dogs filed a motion to appoint a special prosecutor to prosecute Ridglan Farms for animal cruelty. In April, that motion cleared its first hurdle and Judge Rhonda Lanford agreed to hold an evidentiary hearing, which is finally happening on Wednesday!
In Wednesday’s hearing, employee whistleblowers and a veterinary expert will testify about Ridglan Farms’ horrific practices. We’ll have a chance to show Judge Lanford that Ridglan Farms is violating the law, that the District Attorney has failed to hold them accountable, and that she must therefore appoint a special prosecutor to investigate the case.

You can watch the court proceedings live on UnchainedTV (LINK) starting Wednesday just after 9am Central Time (7am PT/10am ET).

Will Ridglan Farms finally be held accountable for years of torturing dogs? While a major step could take place this Wednesday, the answer ultimately is up to all of us. We have to put the pressure on to stop the abuse. Just last month, Ridglan Farms was cited for new violations by the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade, and Consumer Protection (DATCP).

Please join us in asking Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers to direct DATCP to protect dogs at Ridglan Farms.
