PERKINS: On Border Policy, Compassion Is Rooted in Justice |
by Tony Perkins |
In the last few weeks, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has been in the news for their response to hurricanes Helene and Milton. The Biden administration tried to dismiss the hundreds of millions of dollars that FEMA has directed to the self-made disaster at the Southern border, using those taxpayer funds to pay non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to resettle migrants. Some of that funding has gone to address unaccompanied minors who have been allowed into the country. This is a very dark and disturbing reality that is emerging from the Biden-Harris border policy. |

'Jesus Is Lord'? A Tale of Two Rallies |
by Ben Johnson |
Political campaigns all too often come down to one memorable moment: Nixon's debate with JFK, Reagan asking if Americans are better off today than four years ago, Bush promising "no new taxes," or Trump descending a golden escalator. Two rallies - and three events - over the last week presented a series of revelatory moments that should burn themselves into Christians' minds, culminating with the way two of the most important figures in the election responded to the phrase, "Jesus is Lord." |

The Rubicon of Marriage in Republican Platforms |
by Chuck Donovan |
The nation remains sharply divided on many questions, particularly the issues of faith, family, and freedom that have animated Christians and others engaged in today's politics. The drama on that front has been heightened due to perceptions that the 2024 Republican platform is substantially weaker on social issues than its predecessors. Last month, we examined whether that is true at the grassroots level regarding sanctity of life issues. But what about the sanctity of marriage? |

Border Patrol Agents Planning to Quit If Harris Is Elected |
by S.A. McCarthy |
The illegal immigration crisis facing the U.S. has drastically worsened ever since Vice President Kamala Harris was appointed the incumbent administration's "border czar" in 2021. Terrorist threats are on the rise, violent migrant gangs are roaming the streets, small towns are being decimated by state-sanctioned immigrant dumpings, American children are being slain by migrants, and migrant children are being sex trafficked by gangs and cartels. But according to reports, the crisis may deepen further if Harris were to win November's election. |

Alarm Grows over China's Increasing Aggression towards Taiwan |
by Dan Hart |
China significantly heightened its aggressive posture toward the democratic state of Taiwan earlier this week, encircling the island nation during military drills and publicly emphasizing the possibility of an armed invasion. Experts say the hostile actions are an indication that an armed conflict in the region is growing more likely, which could spell disaster for human rights and religious freedom in Taiwan. |

Harris Struggles with Hispanic Voters, Pitches Abortion |
by Joshua Arnold |
Vice President Kamala Harris is struggling to consolidate the Hispanic vote as much as previous Democratic presidential campaigns. A recent poll by Miami-based polling firm Bendixen & Amandi International found that 41% of Hispanic voters expressed support for former President Donald Trump, which would be the highest percentage for any Republican in 20 years. The failure to attract Hispanic voters has led the Harris campaign to throw out conventional wisdom and gamble on a new communication strategy in the campaign's final weeks. |

Walz Using State Money to Fund LGBT 'Indoctrination Field Trips' for Children, Expert Says |
by Sarah Holliday |
Democratic Vice Presidential nominee and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz has decided to put some of the state's Department of Natural Resources funds - roughly $10,500 - toward funding the "Queer Unity, Environmental Education, and Recreation for Youth" (QUEERY) program. Facilitated by people who identify as transgender, host drag shows, and support LGBT activism among children, QUEERY takes kids ages 11 to 17 out to nature so they can "explore how queerness manifests in the natural world." |

Biblical Counsel for the Indecisive |
by Joshua Arnold |
A recent reading from the FRC Bible reading plan offered biblical encouragement and exhortation for those who struggle with indecision - particularly for young adults, particularly for men. I regularly encounter young men who seem responsible, godly, and winsome, yet for some reason they just can't seem to get their life going forward - and often the reason is that they are paralyzed by indecision. Perhaps you know a young man like this and seem puzzled about how to help them. Perhaps this describes you, as it once did me. |

Our Lives Are Often Shaped by Our Responses. Christians Are Called to Respond in Faith. |
by Sarah Holliday |
"So much of a life," said pastor Jamie Dunlop, "is shaped really by [our] response to" the crises we face. It's common to "feel and believe that life is built by the big decisions we make," he went on to say. "But looking back, it's very often shaped much more by our response to the decisions we didn't make" through circumstances we likely didn't ask to experience. |
