John,

We are less than three weeks away from one of the most consequential elections in our history. Like many others, I am scared of what a Trump presidency entails for our immigrant communities, especially Project 2025.

Project 2025 is a policy playbook of ultra-conservative policies drafted by the Heritage Foundation, a group of far-right extremists ([link removed]) who continue using inflammatory rhetoric to provoke public support for undermining the rights of vulnerable communities and separating families in the United States.

This is a blueprint for the next Trump administration—to rally their base while threatening the stability of our country, immigrant families, communities, and our economy.

President Trump has called for ‘the largest deportation program in American history ([link removed]) .’ Project 2025 outlines how to make this possible by:
- Cutting Off Legal Immigration Pathways by functionally ending Temporary protection Status (TPS), DACA, humanitarian parole, H-2 worker visa programs, as well as T and U visa programs for survivors of crime.

- Imposing Mass Deportations and Expanding Immigration Enforcement. Trump has said that he will implement a mass deportation project on Day One, increase the nature of child detention, and allow ICE to perform raid in “protected zones” such as schools, hospitals, and religious institutions.
- Targeting Sanctuary and Forcing States to Collude with ICE by creating a “show-me-your-papers” rule to enable police to enforce border security and punish localities that don’t share databases with the federal government for immigration enforcement purposes.

If enacted, these hardline, anti-immigrant policies would put hundreds of thousands of families, loved ones, and members of our communities at risk of losing the lives they’ve built here. Being an immigrant myself, I have seen firsthand how imperative our immigrant neighbors are to the social, cultural and economic vitality of our cities, state and nation.

It is up to us to defeat Project 2025’s extreme policy proposals—thank you for being a part of our work to create a world where all of us, regardless of immigration status, can thrive.
