This is Pamela, Rebecca’s Campaign Manager here writing to you today with a favor (and it is not to donate to the campaign!).

Every candidate who runs for office is responsible for raising the funds to run their campaign. Even a modest operation like ours costs tens of thousands of dollars each month for the plethora of software and technology we need, for the printing of literature and yard signs, advertising and marketing costs, filing fees, and for paying our small staff who keep everything running and following FEC regulations.
The need to fundraise is why Rebecca sends out emails, asks for donations at events, and spends hours a day on the phone conducting “call time.”
Call time is not easy. And it is not any candidate/s favorite job, including Rebecca’s. But until our campaign finance laws are changed and elections are publicly funded, Rebecca and every other candidate in the country have no choice.
What we can do however to help Rebecca, is make call time more FUN.
That is why this Sunday from 2-5 pm Pacific we are offering a training for anyone who wants to help Rebecca with call time.
Together we will be learning a new approach to call time that flips the traditional model on its head of putting the burden entirely on the candidate and making it a true team effort. Further details of what that looks like will be shared on Sunday.
Anyone interested in helping out with call time or who wants to learn more about call time is welcome. Our staff and team of interns will be there learning right alongside you as we welcome in an expert who will lead the training.

We are proud to be a small-dollar, grassroots people-powered operation that does not accept money from special interest groups or Super PACs. But in order to scale rapidly in the next 3 months before the primary, we need as many people helping with fundraising as possible.
Coming to the training does not oblige you to participate further, but it will make it MUCH easier to join in on the fun.
