Dear John,
Elon Musk, the richest man in the world, is trying to buy the presidential election for Donald Trump.
Musk is pouring $10 million a week into a super PAC that has effectively taken over huge swaths of Trump’s campaign. He’s turned the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) into a MAGA megaphone flooded with right-wing conspiracy theories and anti-immigrant lies. He’s personally joining Trump at campaign rallies.
In exchange, Trump has said he will put Musk in charge of a “government efficiency commission” with authority to make “drastic” changes to the entire federal government.
We’ve seen billionaires get involved in politics before. But what Elon Musk and Donald Trump are doing right now is completely unprecedented. That’s why I wrote a column proposing reforms to limit the power of billionaires like Musk — and Musk responded by attacking me on X, calling me a “miniature wanker” and “Robert Reichtard.”
I am not going to let Elon Musk bully me, and together we must do everything in our power to keep Donald Trump out of the White House.

The New York Times just ran a jaw-dropping front-page story exposing Elon Musk’s unparalleled efforts to buy the presidential election for Donald Trump.
Musk’s super PAC now has an estimated 400 staff on the ground in the 7 key battleground states. He’s hired a small army of top Republican Party operatives and is personally overseeing operations from a home base in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
He has relentlessly urged his 201 million followers on X/Twitter to vote for Trump while pushing baseless conspiracy theories, like the lie that Democrats are flying huge numbers of undocumented immigrants into swing states to vote illegally. One such post got 34 million views.
Meanwhile, the Times reports that Trump and Musk are speaking directly multiple times a week in flagrant violation of campaign finance laws barring coordination between candidates and super PACs.
Here’s the good news. Our most recent persuasive videos are some of the most effective we’ve ever tested. We’ve also recently launched a video called the “10 Worst Things About The Trump Presidency,” and it’s one of the most viral videos we’ve ever done, with 2.8 million views on YouTube alone.
But to reach the number of viewers and voters we need to contact in the final two weeks before Election Day, we’re counting on your help.
Will you donate $5 to help educate the public, stand up to Elon Musk, and defeat Donald Trump?
