Fighting Against Sanctuary Cities
Sanctuary cities are part of the perverse incentives that are drawing illegal immigrants into this country. In fact, their mere existence is illegal under U.S. law.
I spoke on the House floor in support of H.R. 5715 - the No Bailout for Sanctuary Cities Act - which passed the House shortly thereafter.

Biden & Harris LIED
The Biden-Harris administration and Congressional Democrats intentionally misled the American people with the so-called “Inflation Reduction Act” - which had nothing to do with curbing the inflationary firestorm set off by their tax and spend agenda. In reality, the IRA was a partisan bill packed with progressive pet projects that cost American taxpayers more than $800 billion.
President Biden himself admitted it had “less to do with reducing inflation” and more to do with spending billions on their climate change agenda and making America more reliant on foreign energy.
That’s why I introduced H.R. 9798, legislation to rename the Inflation Reduction Act the Biden-Harris “Lied About Inflation and Energy Dependence” (LIED) Act to end the charade and expose this bill for what it always has been - a failed liberal spending spree that crippled our economy and left working American families worse off.
Honoring Veterans in WTX
Recently, I attended the South Plains Honor Flight Send-Off Luncheon where I met with nearly 100 West Texas veterans and their families before the annual honor fight trip to Washington, D.C.
Our men and women who served are living monuments of sacrifice, courage, valor, and patriotism.
This honor flight is a beautiful opportunity for our veterans to visit the monuments and memorials built in their honor in our nation’s capital, reflect on their service, and pay their respects to those who didn’t return home.
Defending American Trade
For far too long, adversaries like China have cheated the American economy and cost the U.S. millions of jobs by utilizing unfair trade practices. President Trump took decisive action to curb this, but more still needs to be done.
That's why I introduced H.R. 9724, the Axing Nonmarket Tariff Evasion (ANTE) Act, to defend our American economy.
The ANTE Act will proactively stop foreign, state-owned businesses form using third countries as a backdoor to evade U.S. tariffs, ultimately bolstering our economy in the process.
Exposing Kamala Harris' Disastrous Energy Policies
Issuing 250 anti-energy executive orders, the Biden-Harris Administration led a whole-of-government attack on the oil and gas industry - an industry that employs 10 million people and accounts for almost 10 percent of our total economy - which has resulted in higher gas prices, a weaker economy, and more dependence on foreign sources of fuel.
A Kamala Harris presidency would be much worse. As Senator, she was an original cosponsor of the Green New Deal, which would cost the federal government $93 trillion over 10 years and increase annual household energy costs by 31%. As a presidential candidate, she advocated to ban fracking, and, as Vice President, supported an $800 billion dollar EV mandate.
I introduced H.Res. 1493, legislation to remind the American people that Kamala Harris' energy policies would be disastrous for the American economy, threaten our energy and national security, and significantly increase energy costs for American consumers.
