Team,

The COVID-19 pandemic is making the inequalities that exist in this country much, much worse. Among them is the fact that many of our neighbors lack access to affordable, high-speed broadband internet.

Ask Texans in Lampasas, or Clifton, or even Wimberley, and they'll tell you — the lack of reliable internet is a serious problem. And it is unacceptable in this time of social distancing when so many of us are relying on home internet access to complete studies, talk to a healthcare provider, work remotely, or file for unemployment benefits. This district deserves better.

I'm committed to fighting for public broadband so we can fill the coverage gaps in our district and across Texas. Add your name to join me: [link removed]

The lack of high-speed internet service in rural Texas as well as in communities of color across this the state is a serious problem that impacts everyone, from small-business owners to elementary-school students. And if there is service available, it's often through just one provider that can drive up costs without having to worry about competition.

The movement to electrify rural America in the 1930s was big, bold, and aspirational. We can apply that same spirit to public infrastructure projects like deploying coast-to-coast broadband to fill coverage gaps in urban and rural areas.

But we need the political will in Congress and leaders who aren't bought and paid for by the telecom industry. That's why I'm in this fight — will you join me?

We can make critical investments in broadband, and fight to ensure every American can stay connected no matter their zip code. Add your name if you agree: [link removed]

Thank you,

Julie
