Earning The Des Moines Register's endorsement is an especially proud moment for the campaign, because they bring, as their motto says, "Real perspective, brought to you by real Iowans." I feel like my prior service to this nation is now moving into the next chapter -- service in the US Senate.

And that's who I'm striving to serve. Real Iowans -- rural and urban, Democrat and Republican, farmer, educator, retiree, health professional, shop worker, vet, citizen, and immigrant. It will take effort, judgment, empathy, and vision to bring America back from these dire days; I am encouraged that the Des Moines Register views the future like I do.
