Not their best: The Biden-Harris administration’s open-border policies and incentives have let untold numbers of transnational gang members into America. Tren de Aragua (TdA) is one of the most notorious gangs making American cities unlivable.

Don’t sweat it: Claims of severe weather caused by cows and large SUVs have no basis in science. 

• “Other than modest warming, there has been little change in any kind of severe weather that can be attributed to global greenhouse gas emissions,” writes Roy Spencer, Heritage visiting fellow and former senior scientist for climate studies at NASA. 
• “There is no climate crisis,” Spencer writes.

Diversity overload: Even the New York Times can’t run away from the havoc wrought by DEI policies across college campuses. In large part due to the work of Heritage expert Jay Greene, the Times has exposed the University of Michigan’s disastrous DEI program.

• Reporter Nicholas Confessore cites Greene’s work in the report and quotes him saying that such DEI programs are “not teaching or research functions. They’re contrary to academic freedom.”

Data dump: In September, the FBI released new data and claimed that violent crime has been dropping. Heritage Senior Legal Fellow Zach Smith immediately responded, explaining how these metrics were flawed.

• Since then, the FBI has quietly revised its report to reflect a sharp increase in violent crime in 2022—corroborating Smith’s research.
• RealClear Investigations also released a report last week exposing the FBI’s “stealth edit” of the data.

America first: Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas said the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) does not have the funds to make it through hurricane season.

• FEMA spent millions moving illegal immigrants throughout the nation, leaving little for U.S. citizens.
