BOB LINN

THE BIBLE IS

AMERICA'S SOUL

The core of Western Civilization is the Bible.  Two thousand years ago, the Hebrew people, caretakers of the Scriptures, saw the day that the long-awaited promise of a Messiah came to pass.

Soon after, these people of God were given a nickname that became more than a local nickname.  Because they were followers of Christ, their long-awaited Messiah, they were called Christians.  (Acts 11:26)  And, as their numbers grew, the West became known as Christendom.

THE BIBLE’S ENDURING

ROLE IN AMERICAN SOCIETY

The header which adorns the top of this newsletter represents more than a hint of the indispensable and irrefutable role played by the Bible in American history.  It was not just our founders who looked to Christ, but that foundation continued even through the 20th century.  This nation has revered and depended upon the Bible and those who preach its authoritative truth for guidance.

The header displays Communism’s arch enemy, Ronald Reagan, our 40th President, walking beside his close friend, the internationally known evangelist, Billy Graham.  Billy Graham was a friend and counselor to thirteen U.S. Presidents beginning with Harry S. Truman and extending to Donald Trump.  To half of them, he was not just a friend, but a close friend.

On May 16, 2024, Billy Graham’s seven-foot bronze statue was placed in Statuary Hall, the featured area in the U. S. Capitol where each state is able to display two of its favorite sons for the nation to see.

The statue stands on a granite pedestal shaped from the pink granite quarry in Salisbury, North Carolina.

Together, the pedestal and statue are 11 feet tall.

The Bible was the foundation of Billy Graham’s life which is why the stature portrays him holding the Bible and it is why the granite pedestal quotes both John 14:6 and John 3:16. Reminding all who walk through our nation’s capital that:

Jesus said to him,

I am the way, the truth, and the life.

No one comes to the Father except through me.

Billy Graham' statue, in Statuary Hall, is a lesson in history and is a marker of the truth imbedded within that history. It is a testimony to the centrality of the Word of God in our nation's history placed prominently in our nation's Capital.

THE ASSAULT ON HISTORY

IN OKLAHOMA

The enemies of these truths have filed a lawsuit against our State Board of Education for its Bible in the classroom policy.

These are enemies of truth in human history emanating from both outside and from within our state.

The ACLU, Americans United for Separation of Church and State, Freedom from Religion, and Oklahoma sympathizers of what these organizations represent from both within and without the church community want to suppress the backbone of American history.  They seek to suppress that which is the lifeblood of human history and Western Civilization.

Last week, our own Alex Gray spoke to a House interim study group of the influx of counter-American aggression being brought to American soils and residing here in Oklahoma.  He stated that America’s adversaries are seeking to bring conflict on American soil.

Also present with Alex Gray was Matthew du Mee, law partner with Fusion Law Firm.  Matthew graduated from Harvard Law school with honors.

He spoke of the espionage and influence campaigns which operate unhindered in the U.S.  He targeted academia as one of the main areas of influence.

Michael Lucci, founder of State Armor, agreed, stating that academia was a key target of the CCP as a way to sabotage our ability to sustain the nation.

Those who have brought the lawsuit against Ryan Walters and the Oklahoma Board of Education as a means to keep the Bible out of Oklahoma classrooms are unwitting agents of this process of removing the heart and soul of the American republic.

Supt. Walters released the following statement on Thursday:

Oklahomans will not be bullied by out-of-state, radical leftists who hate the principles our nation was founded upon. The simple fact is that understanding how the Bible has impacted our nation, in its proper historical and literary context, was the norm in America until the 1960s and its removal has coincided with a precipitous decline in American schools.

It is not possible for our students to understand American history and culture without understanding the Biblical principles from which they came, so I am proud to bring back the Bible to every classroom in Oklahoma.

I will never back down to the woke mob, no matter what tactic they use to try to intimidate Oklahomans.

Dr. Angelo Codevilla, in his Character of Nations, remembered something said by U.S. Supreme Court Justice, Anton Scalia in Romer v Evans:

Day by day, case by case [the Supreme Court] is busy designing a Constitution for a country I do not recognize.

Thank you all for being a part of the

preservation of truth in our Oklahoma culture!
