John, I’m running to defeat Mitch McConnell’s “top recruit” of the cycle and become the first Black senator from Maryland. People like me, stories like mine, often don’t make it to the United States Senate — but if you’re ready to change that and help make history, will you split a donation between my campaign and Lucas Kunce to help me reach today’s $75,000 fundraising goal to power my grassroots campaign? >>
In our nation's history, there have been 2,004 senators, and only 3 of them have been Black women. As a country, we have come so far, but we will never be able to become a more perfect union until we have the equal representation in the halls of power that the people deserve.
Black women in politics historically raise only one-third of the amount that white candidates raise, and that gap is even wider in Maryland. The candidates I’ve been running against have raised 697% more money than I have in this election.
Recent polls show this race is a true toss-up with Larry Hogan and I tied. I’ve been having to prove people wrong my entire life, and I’m ready to meet this moment and defeat Larry Hogan — but I’m going to need your help.
To win, I need a massive groundswell of grassroots supporters to step up and join me in this fight. Please, can I count on you to split $25 between my campaign and Lucas Kunce to boost our efforts to defeat Larry Hogan, become the first Black senator from Maryland, and defend our Democratic Senate majority?
