"To keep it simple for the State of Florida: it’s the First Amendment, stupid."

That’s what a federal judge wrote this past week as he ordered the state of Florida to stop threatening TV stations with criminal charges if they run ads for our amendment to restore and protect abortion rights in Florida.

I'm Anna Hochkammer, Executive Director of the Florida Women's Freedom Coalition, and I’m writing to say that in the final weeks of this campaign, we need your help.

For months, Gov. Ron DeSantis has deployed state agencies, police, and millions of dollars of taxpayer money to try to prevent voters from overturning Florida’s extreme, 6-week abortion ban in two and a half weeks. This decision was a victory, but we’re far from out of the woods.

John, we’re facing three critical challenges with only one solution:

FIRST: In addition to DeSantis' intimidation campaign, anti-abortion extremists have put MILLIONS behind ads that spread lies and disinformation about our ballot initiative to defeat Florida’s near-total abortion ban.

SECOND: A recent poll shows that our initiative may be 2 points short of the 60% threshold needed to win. 60% is a threshold no other abortion ballot initiative has faced in the post-Roe era. If we fall short on Election Day, access to abortion in Florida will likely be doomed for generations.

THIRD: We have 15 days left until Election Day. We’re seriously pressed for time to mobilize every possible voter behind our movement.

The stakes are huge. But so is this opportunity to enshrine abortion rights and drive record voter turnout.
