How can we engage others and the creation with care, compassion, respect, and love? How can we think together to turn this around?

Keynote speaker: Emilie M. Townes

After 11 years as dean and faculty member at Vanderbilt Divinity School, theologian Emilie Townes has joined the faculty of Boston University School of Theology as the Martin Luther King Jr. Professor of Religion and Black Studies. She holds a Doctor of Ministry degree from the University of Chicago Divinity School and a PhD in Religion in Society and Personality from Northwestern University. She was the first Black woman to serve as president of the American Academy of Religion and, when her term begins next year, she will be the first Black woman to serve as president of the Society of Christian Ethics.
