1. Operate with simplicity and sincerity:
Christians today should strive to engage in political discourse while avoiding the temptation to manipulate facts, demonize opponents, or engage in deceptive practices. Instead, we must ensure that our words and behavior reflect the character of Christ. In a time when political discussions can become convoluted and overwhelming, Paul’s call for simplicity serves as a reminder to focus on what is essential. For Christians, this also means a constant remembering of Christ and his work on the cross and the simple obedience in the moment right before us.
2. Rely on God’s Wisdom, not earthly wisdom:
While it is important to be informed and to understand the nuances of political debates, we should be careful not to rely solely on human reasoning or partisan ideology. Instead, we must seek God’s Wisdom through the scriptures, and stand on it even if it conflicts with the world’s opinions. And we do this all by the grace of God, whose grace is sufficient for us and whose power is made perfect in weakness.
