Hi John — During a rambling speech at a campaign rally in Scranton, Pennsylvania, Donald Trump attacked wind power, said he doesn’t care about being nice to women, bragged about getting along well with North Korea’s dictator, Kim Jong Un, and so much more for over 80 minutes.

And he came after me, too, in his unhinged attack.

Before I get into the details of Trump’s attack, I’m hoping you can pitch in a split donation between Democracy On The Line and my campaign for Senate — because the last place Donald Trump wants me to be is in the U.S. Senate, where I will hold him and his enablers accountable every single day.

“You take a child who is 5 years old, he knows more about Russia than my son, and yet Adam Shifty Schiff came out of an Intelligence Committee hearing and said ‘Donald Trump Jr. will go to jail for what he did with Russia’… It was a scam!... He’s a sleazebag that goes out and says my son will go to jail on a con job he made up with Hillary and some of the others. How bad do you have to be?... But we’re going to defeat these radical left lunatics.”

John, there he goes again. Lie after lie. And the worst part is the former president might actually believe them.

As chair of the House Intelligence Committee, I investigated Donald Trump and revealed he (and Don Jr.) sought Russian help in his election, received it, lied about it, and sought to cover it up.

Trump hopes his lies will be a distraction. His insults are meant to take away from the truth — that Donald Trump and his campaign twice sought foreign help to win the presidency.

And when he broke U.S. law by withholding critical aid to Ukraine to extort their leader into helping his campaign, I led his impeachment and secured the first bipartisan Senate vote to convict a U.S. president. He has never let go of that humiliation, so he attacks me. Relentlessly.

He knows that no one has been more effective at holding him accountable for his lies and misdeeds, and nothing infuriates his supporters more than the reminder of how I stood up to him.

In the Senate, I’ll keep fighting his assaults on our democracy and hold his biggest enablers accountable.

His obsession is the highest compliment — it means I’m doing my job.
