Friend —
If you were not able to catch my final debate with my opponent, there is one moment in particular that stuck out to me.
In an exchange on public education, my opponent, Mike Rogers, said he’s “not sure” how Betsy DeVos “has anything to do with us trying to improve education for our kids.”
As Michiganders know, for decades the DeVos family’s #1 issue has been weakening Michigan's, and the country's, public education system. Betsy DeVos used Michigan as her petri dish before becoming Trump’s Secretary of Education — and she is rumored to be Trump’s likely pick if he wins again.
So yes, Betsy DeVos has *everything* to do with public education.
And DeVos’s connections with our opponent run deep. Rogers' first FEC report of his Senate campaign was filled with donations from a bunch of members of the DeVos family — contributions totaling $46,200 all made on one single day. DeVos has even campaigned with our opponent.
They are certainly not done with their support of my opponent. If all goes in their favor, Rogers and DeVos will return to DC hand in hand.
