Hey Folks,

The election is now just a little over two weeks away. Political headlines and the endless ads that go along with them are inescapable at this point. The constant cycle between exhaustion and anxiety can get overwhelming, even for us. 

Which is why we’re sending out a message in a bottle today, by chucking it as far into the sea of election news as we can. That message being: after you make your voice heard, don’t forget to focus on yourself.

Once you have voted, you’ve done your part. You can ignore the ads on TV, the electoral forecasts in the news, even the escalating doom online. Your vote is your tool to make a difference. Once you’ve used it you can rest knowing that you’ve done your duty to preserve and protect our country and democracy.

If you still haven’t cast your ballot and would like to, you can follow the steps below to vote early in your county:

1. Use this link and find your County Auditor’s Office County Auditor List (iowa.gov). It will include your Office’s address, phone number, and other relevant contact information.

2. All Auditor’s Offices serve as early voting stations, so if yours is nearby you can go there to cast your ballot. If it’s a bit of a drive, you can call your Office to see if they’ve set up any early voting stations closer to where you live. If you’d prefer not to call, you can use this link to find your polling place as well: I Will Vote (though remember to look under the ‘Early Vote’ tab to get the correct locations)

3. Travel to your polling location and make your voice heard!

This election is going to be intense, folks. It seems clear that if Trump loses he will attempt to usurp the rule of law and foment an insurrection once again. That day isn’t today, however. Until it comes, don’t forget that it’s okay to help yourself as well.

Only together will we be able to save our country and ourselves.
