I'll be direct, friend.

I'm asking you to make a donation of $5 [ [link removed] ] to power our efforts in IL-17. We have a concerning update that makes your support more urgent than usual. Please give me a moment to shed light on what's going on:

We just got word that Americans for Prosperity -- a far-right super PAC run by the Koch brothers -- launched a round of attack ads against me. Their aim? Mislead voters about my positions before Election Day.

The truth is my opponent Joe McGraw has a very unpopular record to run on. He wants to end the separation of church and state, nationalize an abortion ban, and strip biofuel jobs from our district.

His allies’ best bet is to go negative to distract from their true agenda, and while I know most voters see through the deceit, we can’t let their lies go unchecked. We have to push back.

So I have to ask:

Can you chip in $5 to help us fight back and keep our campaign going strong? We’ll never back down to an extremist take-over in IL-17. And right now, that means correcting the record in the face of these attacks. [ [link removed] ]
