From arts and culture to science, business, and public service, Italian Americans have enriched our nation’s history and continue to shape its future. As part of Italian American Heritage Month this October, Andrew is proud to honor the vibrant heritage, values, and traditions that Italian Americans bring to our communities. WHAT'S NEW IN NY-02 Supporting Cancer Research at "Light The Night" Walk This weekend, our community came together for the "Light The Night" walk with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society to support cancer research. The walk, held in Ronkonkoma, was dedicated to 2-year-old Bobby Conners, who is battling Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia and receiving treatment at Stony Brook Children’s Hospital. Andrew is a fierce supporter of cancer research and funding and is hopeful the Conners family will get their miracle. Please join Andrew and all of Team Garbarino in praying for brave Bobby and his family. Medford Ambulance Trunk or Treat Yesterday was the Medford Ambulance Trunk or Treat, a fun-filled afternoon with children in creative costumes, cars decked out in festive Halloween decorations, and lots of community engagement. Andrew's team handed out resources explaining how his office can assist with casework and federal services, while giving out candy to the kids. A big thank you to everyone who stopped by, and a special shoutout to Medford Ambulance for hosting such a fantastic community event! Andrew and his team are always happy to connect with the NY-02 community—whether through holiday fun or by providing assistance when it’s needed. CASEWORK HIGHLIGHT: Securing Medical Coverage A constituent contacted Andrew’s office after receiving unexpected medical bills despite being told she would have full coverage. Andrew’s casework team collaborated with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), which had the insurer review the case. Although her plan’s coverage had changed, an exception was made since the process began before the change. Andrew's team confirmed that the claims have been reprocessed, and payments toward her medical bills are now being issued. Andrew knows how frustrating dealing with bureaucracy can be. That is why he has an entire team dedicated to helping constituents get what they need from the government. If you need help dealing with a federal agency, contact our office and our team will get to work on your case.
