John, our Election Protection volunteer program is firing on all cylinders. But with just a few weeks before Election Day, there’s still so much we need to do to protect voters.
Since launching our 2024 Election Protection campaign, we’ve fielded thousands of volunteers to work in primary and general elections across the nation.
And we’re just getting started. In just the past 24 hours, hundreds of new volunteers have signed up – meaning our training program will need to run all the way to November.
I’m inspired by how many Common Cause members have answered the call – volunteering hours of their time to fight voter suppression in their communities, ensuring every voter knows their rights, and vigorously pushing back against extremist election denial.
Besides 2020’s record-setting mobilization, we’ve never signed up this many Election Protection volunteers before. That’s especially important for this year’s presidential election, the first since the January 6th attack on our democracy.
I’m glad to see you – and thousands just like you – take a stand against voter suppression across the country.
Here’s the challenge we’re facing: We now have less than a month to bring our volunteer training program up to the scale we need it to be. And with this historic level of interest, we’re running behind on our budget goals to make that happen.
As I write you, we're training volunteers on their state and local election rules. And in an environment where we’re almost guaranteed litigation and other last-minute changes to voting procedures, we'll need them ready for anything.
Each additional volunteer we place costs us $50. This covers expert training, legal backup, and tech infrastructure to support them through Election Day, and beyond. So, your $50 investment translates into hundreds of voters now able to cast their ballots free of fear of intimidation!
John, thousands of voters across the country are counting on your support to help them cast their ballot, free of suppression or intimidation. Please chip in $50 – or whatever you can spare – to sponsor a volunteer today >>

John, it’s amazing to see the impact our trained and dedicated volunteers have already made this year.
With your help, we’ll be able to repeat those successes on Election Day – strengthening our democracy through voter participation and building a better future for us all.
Thank you,
