Councilwoman Robin Vaughn called Mayor Reed Gusciora a “drug addict pedophile” and claimed the only thing Gusciora brought to City Hall was "a bunch of young boys, and they’re sitting up there in the mayor’s suite.”
Earlier this week, Trenton (NJ) Mayor Reed Gusciora endured a homophobic tirade from Councilwoman Robin Vaughn, calling him a “drug addict pedophile” and saying another city councilmember “sucks the mayor’s d***.” John, this horrific language should never be used by an elected official, and for it to be used to target New Jersey’s first openly LGBTQ mayor makes it even worse.
We're calling for this Councilwoman's resignation and standing with Mayor Gusciora. Will you add your name and let him know you're on his side in this fight? Sign on and leave a note here. [[link removed]]
It's tiring to see the same old tropes trotted out by bigots over and over. But rest assured, we're going to keep fighting until bigots and their hateful politics are banished from government. Let Mayor Gusciora know you agree - and you're standing with him now. [[link removed]]

LGBTQ Victory Fund has helped thousands of openly LGBTQ candidates win elections up and down the ballot, from sea to shining sea since our founding in 1991. We believe representation is power – so we elected U.S. Senators Tammy Baldwin and Kyrsten Sinema, Governors Jared Polis and Kate Brown, all seven LGBTQ members of U.S. Congress and countless candidates for state and local government, including Virginia Delegate Danica Roem, Colorado state Representative Leslie Herod and Pennsylvania Assemblymember Brian Sims. And with an unprecedented number of LGBTQ people running for office in this year, we’ll need your support to make 2020 the next Rainbow Wave.
