Hello,
The day before the anniversary of the Supreme Court’s disastrous Dobbs decision, I woke up to Fox News and Lauren Boebert attacking my sister and my 81-year-old father.
For decades, Dad was an OB-GYN. He delivered thousands of babies and wrote books on how to get pregnant and to navigate menopause. Dad provided women with full access to all kinds of reproductive health care, including abortions, in the years right after Roe – and he has now had to watch as women’s reproductive rights are gutted in the aftermath of Dobbs.
Dad and his clinic faced many threats over the years. It’s no exaggeration to say that he put his own safety – and that of his family – at risk in order to protect the rights of women to make their own medical decisions.
But I’m not sure he ever expected to see a sitting member of Congress attacking him – or my sister who followed in his footsteps – in a national news outlet. It’s disgusting. These kinds of personal attacks against my family have no place in our politics and do nothing to serve the people of Western and Southern Colorado.
If extremists like Lauren Boebert and my new Republican opponent want to have a conversation about reproductive rights in this country, I am more than happy to have that debate. We can talk about how I support freedom and liberty – and how they support big government intruding into the lives of women. We can talk about how they support a national ban on abortion – with no exceptions for rape, incest, or the life of the mother. And we can talk about how they are so extreme, they even want to ban the pill that’s been used by women for decades.
I am willing to talk all day about the fringe view that the government should be dictating women’s medical decisions. But what I won’t accept is extremists like Lauren Boebert and Fox News attacking my father and my sister.
I am incredibly proud of my father. He provided health care to women when they needed it during some of the happiest – and most devastating – moments of their lives. Before retirement, he would drive two hours to Planned Parenthood and help teach the next generation of health care providers, like my sister. And no one – not Fox News, and especially not extremists like Lauren Boebert or my new Republican opponent – is going to stop my family from continuing to stand up for a woman’s right to choose.
We already scared off Lauren Boebert. In 2022, I came just 546 votes shy of winning this House seat. I’m ready to finish the job and replace Boebert in Congress in November, but these are the kinds of ugly attacks that I’m up against.

I knew this campaign was going to get nasty, but I never expected the other side to go after my family.
Thank you for being on this journey with me, through thick and thin.
With gratitude -
Adam
P.S. I love you, Dad and little sis.
