Shelley Luther, a Texas salon owner, was jailed and fined this week for violating a local stay-at-home order. She was making the decision to feed her family or face severe legal consequences. To make matters worse, the judge tried to bribe her with a lessened sentence for an apology for her “selfishness”. Luckily, Texas officials stepped in and freed her in time for her to spend Mother’s Day with her children. How did things escalate so quickly?Â
