Trump ground game in key states flagged as potentially fake
The Guardian is reporting that Donald Trump’s campaign may be failing to reach thousands of voters they hope to turn out in Arizona and Nevada, with roughly a quarter of door-knocks done by America PAC flagged by its canvassing app as potentially fraudulent, according to leaked data and people familiar with the matter. The America PAC, of course, is one of several dark money depositories set up by Elon Musk to try to tilt the election in Trump's favor. If Elon Musk's incompetence ends up delivering the election for Harris, it will be a poetic justice nigh unsurpassed in the entirety of human history...so cross your fingers and vote vote vote!

Neil Gorsuch’s new book is an embarrassment
Politico, Ankush Khadori: "You might have expected the GOP appointees to be on their best behavior these days — perhaps even making a serious effort to persuade skeptical Americans that they are not political operatives and that they can be trusted to discharge their duties fairly and honestly. That is not how one member — Justice Neil Gorsuch — chose to spend his summer vacation. You might have missed it, but in August, Gorsuch published a book titled Over Ruled, which argues that there are too many laws on the books and that government officials at both the federal and state levels are enforcing them in increasingly unpredictable and unjust ways. The argument is not exactly original, but it takes on a different force when it comes from a sitting Supreme Court justice. The book, however, is riddled with glaring factual omissions and analytic errors that seriously call into question its reliability and rigor. In its essence, the book is standard conservative political propaganda — an anecdote-driven, broad-brush attack on legislators trying to solve contemporary social problems and on the executive branch officials trying to enforce the country’s laws. It represents a remarkable attack by a sitting Supreme Court justice on the other two branches of government. This is not the first time that the quality and originality of Gorsuch’s writing has come into question, but his new book and the accompanying publicity tour provide further evidence for some of the most serious and persistent criticisms of him — that he is an ideologue; that he will mislead the public if he thinks it will serve his purposes; and that he sees himself as a surrogate for political conservatives in particular, not the American people as a whole."

There is no Fox “news side.” Wednesday’s Trump and Harris events prove it
Matt Gertz, Media Matters for America: "Fox’s 'news side' has been in steep decline since Trump took over the Republican Party and the network rebranded as his personal propaganda outlet. But even by those standards, the partisan divide it displayed on Wednesday was striking and would be catastrophically embarrassing to Fox’s employees if any of them were still capable of humiliation. Fox announced last week that it was planning a town hall with Trump that would be taped in Georgia and moderated by Faulkner. Notably, Fox deliberately deceived the public about the audience it hosted for Trump. While Faulkner described the crowd as coming from “every walk of life,” CNN subsequently reported that the network not only stocked the town hall with Trump’s supporters, the version it aired left out two key occurrences that exposed just how in-the-tank for Trump it had been. Vice President Kamala Harris received a starkly different reception that night when she sat down with Fox anchor Bret Baier, at one point catching him using a deceptive clip to downplay Trump’s rants about “the enemy from within.” While Baier has long enjoyed a largely unearned reputation as a credible newsman, he lives in palpable fear of his viewers abandoning his network. His subsequent performance was what you might expect from someone worried primarily about letting down Fox’s pro-Trump audience. Harris faced a barrage of hostile questions and frequent interruptions when she tried to answer them. Fox’s “news side” always functioned as a cog in the right-wing media machine that laundered its talking points into the mainstream press, and its claim to independence was demolished during Trump's presidency. But at this point the network seems to have all but given up on even pretending to employ a credible news apparatus."

Israeli media: Netanyahu actively blocked every deal to free hostages
Qasim Rashid, Let's Address This: "Recent revelations from Haaretz, Israel's longest-running newspaper, have confirmed a deeply disturbing reality: Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has actively blocked every potential hostage deal since October 7th, 2023. But perhaps even more concerning is that this is not a recent development. Haaretz reported way back in March, 2024, that Netanyahu’s own generals are angry with him for “sabotaging a hostage deal.” In fact, the families of the hostages themselves condemn Netanyahu as “Mr. Death,” stating that they learned a full hostage deal was on the table in October of 2023, that Netanyahu rejected. Simultaneously, Netanyahu has made clear his intention to annex Gaza, further deepening the catastrophe that already grips the Palestinian territory. This is not a random byproduct of war—it is a deliberate strategy to seize land that does not belong to Israel under international law. It is no different in practical effect than Putin annexing part of The Ukraine. Meanwhile, the Israeli military continues to bombard Gaza, killing civilians indiscriminately. How, then, can anyone deny that this is the perpetuation of genocide? Indeed, one of the most difficult elements to prove when assessing genocide is the matter of intent. Yet what other conclusion can be drawn when Netanyahu blocks hostage deals, prolongs the conflict, and openly declares his plans to annex Gaza while it lies in ruins? This is not accidental. This is calculated. This is intentional. And it does not take an international human rights lawyer to see the intent behind this cruelty."

Trump shocks with horrifying promise of violence
Kamala Harris for President: In a recent rambling and incoherent speech, Donald Trump threatened to institute a "Purge"-like day of state-sanctioned violence if he returned to the White House — and that’s just the latest appalling promise from a would-be fascist dictator who has vowed to impose mass deportations, jail his political opponents, cripple our economy, and end democracy as we know it. Dose of Democracy is working with the Kamala Harris campaign to raise money and build the grassroots get-out-the-vote machine that we’ll need to defeat Trump in November. Will you make a donation to help elect Kamala Harris and stop Donald Trump once and for all?
