Here at NDRC HQ, we all agree on two things:
1. Gerrymandering is cheating.
2. Music keeps us motivated when the going gets tough.
So when Attorney General Holder came up with the idea to send our supporters a playlist of his favorite inspirational songs in honor of the 21st night of September, we knew it’d be a hit.
What we didn’t know was just how many of you would write back with the songs that help you stay optimistic and inspire you to keep pushing forward. Here are just a few we’re adding to A.G. Holder’s playlist:
"People Got To Be Free" - The Rascals
"A Change is Gonna Come" - Sam Cooke
"Centerfield" - John Fogerty
"Put A Little Love In Your Heart" - Jackie DeShannon
"Higher Ground" - Stevie Wonder
"Dancing in the Streets" - Martha & The Vandellas
And of course, lots of people agreed with the A.G. when it came to Marvin Gaye, Luther Vandross, and Earth, Wind & Fire.
With just 18 days until Election Day, we’ll all need inspirational music — and each other — to get across the finish line.
As always, thank you for being a part of this grassroots team.
