With the 2024 election fast approaching, many LGBTQ+ young people are facing heightened stress and uncertainty. The political landscape can feel overwhelming, but it also presents an opportunity for us to show up as stronger allies and advocates. During times like these, supportive adults can be a source of hope and reassurance, helping LGBTQ+ youth feel seen, valued, and empowered.

At The Trevor Project, we’ve created a guide, How to Support LGBTQ+ Young People Ahead of the 2024 Election,” to help you navigate this important time. Whether it’s having open conversations, offering encouragement, or guiding them through any difficult situations they encounter, this resource ensures that LGBTQ+ youth know they are supported. While challenges may arise, together, we can make sure they feel hopeful and connected to a community that cares.

Learn How To Help
As we come together for LGBTQ+ young people during this important time, we also want to celebrate the beauty and strength found in our diverse identities and intersectionality. There is so much to honor within our community, and we’re excited to share resources that reflect that this month.

Carl Nassib discussing the NFLs partnership with The Trevor Project on a TV interview.

Advancing Our Mission: Our Continued Partnership With The NFL

On National Coming Out Day earlier this month, the National Football League (NFL) announced the renewal of its $100,000 donation to support our life-saving work. This generous contribution reflects the NFL’s continued commitment to fostering LGBTQ+ inclusion in sports and beyond, bringing its total support of The Trevor Project to over $300,000. "When sports leagues like the NFL are vocal about supporting The Trevor Project’s mission, it sends a clear message to LGBTQ+ young people that they are welcomed and accepted in athletic environments," said Jaymes Black (they/she/he), CEO of The Trevor Project. We are deeply grateful for this ongoing partnership and the positive impact it continues to have on the lives of LGBTQ+ young people.
