Lesko Legislation

Broadband access is an issue that has plagued rural communities in Arizona and around the United States since the technological boom. It’s important for both our economic and national security for all Americans to have access to high-quality, high-speed internet. Unfortunately, too much red tape slows down progress. This Congress, I was proud to reintroduce the Connecting and Building Lines for Expedited (CABLE) Expansion Act to streamline permitting for expanded broadband access.

Get the Facts: 2022 Crime Data REVEALED

This week, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) quietly revised their statistics for violent crime data in 2022. When initially reported, the data showed a 2.1% drop in crime in 2022 compared to 2021. This supposed drop in crime has been used by Democrats to push back against Republican concerns about rising crime in our nation. This week, however, the FBI’s updated data actually shows a 4.5% increase in violent crime in 2022. The corrected data included an addition of 1,699 murders, 7,780 rapes, 33,459 robberies, and 37,091 aggravated assaults. Republicans were right all along—thanks to Democrats’ soft on crime policies, our communities are less safe, and the real data proves it.

Casework Highlight

A constituent contacted our office for assistance with the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) after his father passed away and he needed to settle an annuity. We contacted OPM and asked them to process his request, resulting in a lump sum payment to the estate.
