Kids are at major risk of going hungry as their parents find themselves out of work due to the pandemic. Ask your members of Congress to ensure there is adequate funding for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) to meet the growing need.

Hi John -

Throughout the country, millions of Americans are struggling to deal with the economic fallout of the coronavirus pandemic. As a result, there has been a dramatic increase in the number of people enrolling in SNAP – formerly known as food stamps.

Congress included additional funding for SNAP in the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, but that will not be enough to meet the significant increase in need. If Congress doesn’t act, children across the country will not have enough to eat.

Urge your members of Congress to prevent kids from going hungry by increasing SNAP benefits.

Good nutrition is absolutely critical to kids’ development. They can’t grow up healthy and strong and can have difficulty learning if they are experiencing food insecurity.

Even during normal times, 1 in 7 kids in the United States face hunger. 20 million of those children rely on the food they get from SNAP. These numbers are rapidly growing, so Congress must ensure that benefit levels are sufficient for parents to feed their families in the weeks and months ahead.

Help ensure that our current public health and economic crisis does not also become a food security crisis for millions of children.

Please ask your members of Congress to provide sufficient funding for SNAP to meet the nutritional needs of kids throughout the pandemic and recovery.

Thank you for being a voice for kids,
