It’s hard to keep up with the pace of Israel’s escalation as it increases its attacks on Gaza and Lebanon, while vowing retribution in Iran.
Late last month, thousands of Israeli troops invaded southern Lebanon and in the days since, its bombardment of the country has killed more than 2,300 people and wounded thousands more. 51 people were killed last Sunday alone.
Meanwhile, the world waits with bated breath to see how Israel will respond after Iran fired ballistic missiles at Israel earlier this month. Though Netanyahu recently said he would strike the Iranian military, not nuclear or oil targets, he also warned the retaliation would be “precise, painful and surprising.”
And then there’s Gaza, where the humanitarian crisis worsens by the hour as Israel is accused of a “policy of starvation.” In response, the Biden administration said it would take punitive measures if Israel did not increase the flow of humanitarian assistance to Gaza within 30 days.
The people of Gaza do not have 30 days to wait. And in the same breath, the U.S. also announced plans to send the missile defense system and troops.
The hypocrisy is outrageous. One thing is clear: if we’re going to have any hope of forcing the Israeli government to stop, we need to FINALLY end our government’s complicity.
It’s long past time we do everything in our power to stop Israel’s endless wars and find a path towards peace. Will you send a clear message to President Biden that the U.S. must finally stop fueling these horrors?
When we organize, we win.
