Dear John,
It was a busy week, but I’m back to keep you in the loop on how I am fighting for our conservative values.
I am appalled at the news that over 200,000 taxpayer dollars were spent on dangerous and irreversible child sex change “interventions.” According to recent reports, hospitals in Minnesota performed surgery on 174 minors, administered “hormone and puberty blockers” to 219 children, and wrote 1,038 prescriptions. This is the direct result of individuals like Kamala Harris, Tim Walz, and Tina Smith, who have used their power to promote gender operations for minors, subverting parental rights under threat of legal action. This is sick and taxpayers are funding it. This reality is exactly why I am a cosponsor of the Protecting Resources of Taxpayers to Eliminate Childhood Transgender Surgeries Act of 2024, which will prohibit federal funds from being used for sex changes and hormone blockers for children. We should not be harming our children, and taxpayers shouldn’t be footing the bill for this madness.
During my visit to Avera Marshall Regional Medical Center, the message from their representatives was resounding: Biden's nursing home staffing mandate is a disaster for rural Minnesota. His one-size-fits-all rules, like requiring a registered nurse on-site 24/7, are forcing nursing homes to close, just like we saw in Arlington. That’s why I introduced the Protecting Rural Seniors’ Access to Care Act —to stop this dangerous mandate before more seniors are displaced. Rural healthcare leaders are rightfully concerned, and I’m working to protect our communities from Biden’s out-of-touch policies. While his administration continues to ignore rural America, my focus is to ensure our seniors get the care they deserve.
The Cato Institute, a fiscally conservative think tank, released their annual governor's report card, grading officials on their record on taxes, fiscal restraint, and individual freedom. It should come as no surprise that Governor Tim Walz came in dead last. His reckless fiscal policies have led to a staggering 36% increase in Minnesota's general fund budget while also hitting Minnesotans with a barrage of tax hikes. Tim Walz earned his F rating through his infatuation with government as the solution to every problem. That philosophy and an F rating don’t deserve a promotion to the White House.
