With the help of this grassroots team, I went up against the far-right — and won . In 2022, Democracy Defenders like me defeated extreme Republicans in states like Arizona, Michigan, Nevada, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.

As a result, more Americans live in a state with a Democratic governor and legislature, rather than in a state fully controlled by the Republican Party. These crucial victories paved the way for Democrats to pass critical legislation protecting voting rights, reproductive freedom, LGBTQ+ rights, and more.

But every bit of this progress is at risk this year.

Many of the election deniers that we successfully defeated two years ago are back on the ballot this fall (including my 2022 opponent, Kari Lake). MAGA Republicans have doubled down on their quest to take back power in whatever way they can.
