Big news, friend: The DOOBIE Act has officially passed out of committee for full consideration by the Senate!
In July, I filed the Dismantling Outdated Obstacles and Barriers to Individual Employment Act to ensure applicants for federal positions and security clearances are not denied solely on the basis of past recreational and medical marijuana use.
Now, this legislation is headed to the full Senate – and this is our chance to get it passed. Please, add your name in support of this bill to ensure that talented individuals are not automatically disqualified from federal service solely due to past marijuana use.

Now that 24 states and the District of Columbia have legalized both medical and recreational marijuana use, it's time for the federal government to adapt its hiring practices to reflect the evolving legal and social landscape of our nation.
This legislation takes a crucial step toward expanding our talent pool and creating a fairer hiring process – but I need to know whether it has your support as it moves on to consideration by the full Senate.
Please, will you add your name to support my bill barring federal agencies from denying employment solely based on an individual's past marijuana use?
