John,
Thanks again for signing up to be a Public Lands Citizen Activist!
These are difficult times for all of us, and as my team works to meet
with elected officials and coalition partners over phone and video
calls, I cannot say how much I appreciate that you have chosen to be a
part of this movement to defend our parks and public lands. With your
help, we can continue to create and protect our parks and green spaces
that improve public health, bolster local economies, and protect
communities against the effects of climate change - which is why
I'm reaching out to you now.
As many of us spend our days
inside, never have we had a greater appreciation for our outdoor
spaces close to home - or more of a need to protect them. We
cannot allow our parks or public lands to fall into disarray -
our recovery from this crisis will depend on our ability to protect
the parks and open spaces that protect fresh air and clean water, and
provide safe spaces to walk, hike, fish, and explore.
John, our parks and public lands
need your help now more than ever. Protect the trails and parks we
love by urging your Senators to take a stand for public land today.

Now we have an opportunity to do
just that by fully funding the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF)
and addressing the maintenance backlog for our national public lands
through the Great American Outdoors Act (S. 3422). The Act would help
us build local parks and green spaces in communities that need them
the most, and provide the guaranteed funding necessary to repair and
maintain our National Parks that are in desperate need of funding
- all without costing taxpayers a dime!
TAKE ACTION NOW:

As we deal with this crisis,
being able to get outside for air and exercise while observing social
distancing guidelines has become all the more important. Sign now to
encourage your Senators to fight for our local parks and national
public lands so we can protect them for today, tomorrow, and
generations to come!

In time, parks will reopen and we will be able to reunite in the
places we love. Thank you for helping us make that happen.
Yours in conservation,
Jordan Schreiber
