John, take in this DailyKos headline:

Democrats like you know this sort of statement from Gov. Ayotte is a stunning confession. Republicans these days need to weaken our democracy to hold on to power. That’s not just bad for Democrats. It’s bad for America.

This is news because New Hampshire permits mid-cycle congressional redistricting. So this isn’t just idle talk — if Ayotte wins and if Democrats cannot take the legislature, the GOP could choose to rewrite their maps at any moment.

In these final days, please fight to elect Democracy Defenders and help build state-level firewalls in New Hampshire and beyond. Please, make a gift to the NDRC today → [[link removed]] If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately:

Right now the polls show that Ayotte holds a slight lead over her Democrat rival but Vice President Harris holds a lead over Trump. Republicans hold both the Senate and the House in New Hampshire — and they have to defend tiny majorities. There’s no clear consensus on a single partisan advantage, which makes these state-level races even more nerve-wracking… and completely winnable.

Here’s why: In 2020, one New Hampshire Senate race was won by 409 votes. This year, we’re endorsing Democracy Defender Matt McLaughlin to run against the incumbent in that same race for State Senate District 9. If we can flip seats like that and take the legislature, we can stop a mid-cycle GOP gerrymander before it gets started.

With margins expected to be slim, every dollar can make a real difference in protecting fair maps in New Hampshire and beyond. Please, make a gift of $30 or more today: [[link removed]]

Since 2008, the state Senate has changed hands three times, and the House has flipped five times. It’s all about who shows up and puts in the work in these final days. With the support of Democrats like you, I know we can win back majorities and safeguard our democracy.

Thank you for being part of the team,
