These are some of the heinous conditions experienced by Jane Doe in one of Nevada’s legal and “reputable” brothels. 

There has long been controversy over the legalization or full decriminalization of prostitution. One of the key arguments in favor of legalization/full decriminalization is the notion that, because prostitution will occur anyway, legalizing or decriminalizing will presumably make it safer for women and prostituted persons. But let’s examine that claim.  

Does Jane’s account of her life in a legal brothel sound like the legalization of prostitution has made the practice safer?

Cleveland 19: Here are the names of ‘Johns’ busted in Ohio human trafficking sting

A sting operation that took place last week arrested 132 individuals involved in a sex trafficking operation in Ohio.

👉110 "Johns" (sex buyers) were arrested.

👉There were 22 more sex buyers arrested who were attempting to abuse minors.

👉73 survivors were rescued.

"If we are going to stop human trafficking, there have to be sanctions for the people that are funding this," said the Ohio Attorney General in a press conference. "A 'John' shouldn't be getting a slap on the wrist, $100 fine and told to not to do it anymore. There's needs to be consequences, and there needs to be education."

The only way to end sex trafficking and all exploitation is deceptively simple: we have to stop those who create the demand by buying sex.
