In this bi-weekly teaching, Andrew Cohen emphasises that while observing the mind is a critical practice, it is merely a prelude to the more profound step of letting it go entirely. Observation brings awareness, and awareness opens the door to understanding, but it is only through total surrender—through releasing the mind’s control—that true liberation is realised. The ego, with all its attachments and illusions, can persist even in a state of observation. But when we let go, we step beyond the observer-observed duality and into the unbounded space of pure consciousness. Cohen teaches that this is the essence of evolutionary enlightenment: to evolve beyond the limits of ego and mind, not just by
watching their movements but by dissolving our identification with them completely. In this way, we are free to participate fully in the creative flow of life, unencumbered, awakened, and ever-evolving.
