In Congress, there’s too often a bit of a sense of “stemming the bleeding.”

Trying to prevent the government from shutting down.

Watching the endless GOP dysfunction in the House.

Calling for an assault weapons ban that we desperately need, but know we can’t pass right now.

I decided to run for reelection to the Senate because I really do have hope for what we can accomplish.

Just look at what we did the past few years — from the American Rescue Plan to the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law to incremental progress on gun violence prevention, we’ve proven that with Democrats in power, good things happen.
