Democrat,
We are approximately 17 days from Election Day. But if you’re reading this, I don’t think I need to tell you that! What I do want to tell you is that while Election Day is getting closer and closer, there are more opportunities than ever to do something. No one wants to wake up November 6th wishing they had done more. There have never been more opportunities to do something from the comfort of your own home if you are not able to knock on doors. Check out our new website page [[link removed]] for all Harris/Walz volunteer opportunities, whether here in NJ or heading over to Pennsylvania.
This week, I had the opportunity to join our NJ Dems volunteers on a phone bank alongside NC Dems, LiUNA members from the Mid-Atlantic and Eastern regions, and Governor McKee from Rhode Island to help get out the vote in North Carolina. Early voting started yesterday in North Carolina, which is a key priority for Democrats this cycle. Every week we have been breaking the previous week’s call records. But we cannot lose the momentum, we need every caller possible on with us. We have two phone banks left with North Carolina, so sign up here [[link removed]] ! I hear Gov. Murphy will be a guest speaker on Tuesday, October 22nd with our Black Caucus [[link removed]] .

Governor Phil Murphy and Acting Commissioner for the New Jersey Department of Education, Kevin Dehmer, announced that 18 New Jersey school districts will receive nearly $20 million in Fiscal Year 2025 preschool expansion funds. This funding aims to establish or enhance access to high-quality preschool programs for the 2024-2025 school year, benefiting over 1,200 additional children across the state.
“Our investment in early childhood provides the youngest learners with a solid foundation for success,” said Governor Phil Murphy. “Today’s announcement builds on my ongoing commitment to expand early childhood education to more communities, with the long-term goal of ensuring every 3- and 4-year-old in the State has access to a high-quality preschool program.”

The Biden-Harris Administration is actively responding to the aftermath of Hurricanes Helene and Milton in the Southeast and Appalachia. Nearly 8,000 federal personnel are collaborating with local officials to assist survivors in recovery and rebuilding efforts. Under President Biden’s direction, over $1.8 billion has been approved for hurricane recovery, providing support for individuals' essential needs and public assistance for debris removal and restoring infrastructure like roads and schools.
“To reduce the impact of extreme weather and climate change, we have to continue making these investments,” said President Biden .

P.S. As Jewish communities in New Jersey and across the globe celebrate Sukkot, I wish everyone a joyful and happy Chag Sameach.
