John,
The election is just 17 days away, and election forecasters still say we’re neck-and-neck. My campaign is firing on all cylinders to reach as many Maine voters as possible in this final stretch, but today, I wanted to take a break from the craziness to reflect on why I first ran for office – and ask you to chip in a few dollars to help us finish strong. John, Maine has always been my home. I was born in Lewiston and grew up in Leeds mowing grass at my family’s business. I was a freshman at the University of Maine in Farmington when the twin towers fell on September 11th. I felt called to serve, so I joined the Marine Corps and served combat tours in Afghanistan and Iraq.

My military service has shaped who I am, and I carry those values with me every day. I learned what it means to have someone’s back, and how it feels to know they have yours. I also learned to always work as part of a team to get the job done, because in a fight, the worst thing a person can do is to leave someone behind.
After returning home, what I saw from Washington was that more often than not, our representatives fought over petty differences that had little to do with the struggles that everyday folks like you and me face. Time and time again, I saw our small business owners, firefighters, teachers, loggers, nurses, shipbuilders, and steelworkers being left behind – and I couldn’t sit idly by.
So in 2017, I decided to run for Congress.

My first campaign event in Eagle Lake, just days after our launch in 2017.
From day one in Washington, I’ve fought for affordable health care, stood up to corporate greed, and never forgot my promise to have Mainers’ backs no matter what – and you’ve had my back, too.
I haven’t been perfect, but I’ve tried to deliver the kind of leadership Mainers tell me they want, and to show my understanding that now more than ever, people want elected officials to set aside their differences and stand together to face the serious challenges of our time. I’ll work with anyone – Democrat, Republican, or Independent – to get things done for Maine and for our country.
Since our historic victory in 2018, we’ve built a line of defense against corruption, corporate greed, and attacks on our health care. Now, if you’re able to, I need you to step up again – because whether it’s a woman’s right to make her own health care choices, collective bargaining rights, or the promise of Medicare and Social Security, so much is at stake in this election.
John, I won’t sugarcoat it. Dark money groups with deep pockets have targeted this district, and the GOP considers my seat a top target. I’m committed to fighting for you in Congress, but I need your help to protect this seat.

I’ve worked hard to be your voice in Washington these past few years, and I would be honored to continue to be your representative.
