*St. Clair Shores Woman to Stand Trial for Double Voting*

*LANSING *– Today, Stacey Kramer, 56, of St. Clair Shores, was bound over to stand trial in the 16th Circuit Court in Macomb County for allegedly voting twice in the 2024 August Primary Election. Kramer faces one count of Voting Absentee and In-Person, a maximum penalty 5-year felony, and one count of Offering to Vote More than Once, a maximum penalty 4-year felony. Attorney General Nessel announced the charges against Kramer earlier this month.

“Although cases of double voting are extremely rare, my office remains committed to prosecuting voter fraud,” Nessel said. “Through the preliminary examination process, our prosecutors were able to exhibit sufficient evidence of the alleged offenses to advance this case toward a trial, and we are pleased to see this case proceed through the judicial process.”

It is alleged Kramer appeared in person at her local polling location on election day in St. Clair Shores, requesting and voting a ballot in the August Primary Election, despite having returned an absentee ballot for the same election. Kramer is alleged to have voted both in-person and absentee, and both votes were counted in the primary election.

Kramer will next appear in the 16th Circuit Court on November 4 before Judge James Maceroni.
