Here’s the reality: Black women candidates—no matter how qualified—are systemically underfunded. On average, Black women like Summer raise only ONE-THIRD of what their white counterparts do. That’s not just a statistic; it’s a barrier. It means fewer resources to reach voters, less visibility, and less power to fight back against well-funded attacks from the other side.
And the stakes are high. Wealthy Republican donors are pouring money into races all across our state, and we have to fight back!
