John,
They're a fact of life around election season, and if you live in a swing state, it might feel like they're all you see and hear lately: political ads. So before you mute your TV, change the radio station, or toss that mailer you just got in the recycle bin, let's talk about how ads are helping us win in November.
Abortion is on the ballot this year, John. Many states will see propositions and amendments about abortion rights directly on their ballots, but EVERY state will see candidates up and down the ballot who are fighting hard to protect our most fundamental rights — or take them away.
That's a big part of why EMILYs List has spent more than $20 million (so far!) on major TV, digital, and streaming platform ad campaigns in critical states this cycle. These ads focus on reproductive rights and highlight the differences between EMILYs List women and their opponents, and they're extremely effective at informing voters of the stakes.
And as always, timing is everything. In the last two and a half weeks before Election Day, people are getting ballots in the mail, voting early in person, or making their plans to vote on November 5. This is when it matters MOST that they know which candidates are fighting for them, and which are fighting to control their bodies and their futures. That's where we come in.
