Title IX was established to ensure equal opportunities for women and girls in education and sports, protecting fairness and leveling the playing field for future generations. But today, these protections are under threat. Radical changes are being proposed that undermine the very foundation of Title IX, jeopardizing the rights of female athletes and students across Washington’s 8th Congressional District and beyond.

Carmen Goers was moved by a story of a middle school runner here in Washington who qualified for the regional championship and lost to a biologically male runner competing in the girls' race. This brave young lady shared her story of disappointment, bullying, and threats when she protested. As a former athlete and mother of female athletes, Carmen will fight to protect female athletes and the intent of Title IX.
