Dear John,
I hope you all had a great week enjoying the fall weather in Minnesota.
Really tough loss for the Minnesota Lynx in Game 3 of the WNBA Finals but another chance to tie up the series tonight at Target Center! Go Lynx!
This week I was joined by Senators Amy Klobuchar and Tina Smith in Inver Grove Heights for a ribbon cutting ceremony for the Veterans Memorial Greenway.
The project was a long time coming and with the help of many federal, state and local leaders, I was able to secure $4.9 million to construct the accessible year-round space. It is also an addition to the state’s longest memorial greenway.
In Minnesota we love enjoying our nature and this new addition will keep folks safe while they’re walking or riding their bikes.
This space is dedicated to our nation’s veterans – including the more than 6,600 veterans with disabilities in Dakota County – and is meant to honor their sacrifice and service to our nation. I hope you will stop by the Veterans Memorial Greenway to appreciate the new space and honor the sacrifices our veterans continue to make for our freedoms.
Here’s what else I was up to this week:
Supporting law enforcement
On Tuesday I met with the National Latino Peace Officers Association to discuss how they are working to protect our communities and how I can ensure they have the resources they need to do their jobs safely. Our Second District law enforcement community works hard to keep us safe, and I want to support them so they can continue their important work.
Behind the scenes with Rep. Craig:
These are my two D.C. interns for the fall semester, Lily and Rafael! They are doing great work for our community and learning about public service.
I’ll be in Minnesota again next week meeting with more constituents and working to bring your tax dollars back home to the Second District.
Go Lynx! Go Vikings! Go Wild!
Until next time,
Angie Craig
Member of Congress
