When Donald Trump was asked to explain his gun policy to parents of victims of school shootings , he doubled down on his commitment to the Second Amendment and said that people need guns for safety, entertainment, and sports…
While I’m never surprised by Trump’s gun lobby-influenced deadly rhetoric, I still find myself completely incensed by these comments – as a gun violence survivor and as a mom. Our kids deserve better. We all do. This kind of response to the uniquely American epidemic of gun violence represents all that’s at stake when we go to the polls in mere weeks.
What our country desperately needs is to protect our kids from their number one cause of death: gun violence. And there’s only one candidate who will protect our children and all Americans from gun violence – that candidate is Kamala Harris. That’s why I’m reaching out to activists to make sure they’re committed to voting to make our country better and safer for us all:
