The Woodlands 50th Anniversary
On Monday, I had the pleasure of attending The Woodlands' 50th Anniversary Kickoff Celebration. I was honored to contribute to their 50-year time capsule a Congressional Record—which honors The Woodlands, Texas, for transforming into a thriving community nestled in the woods in just 50 short years—and one of my challenge coins, which I carried when I parachuted over the beaches of Normandy for the D-Day anniversary.
I am proud to represent The Woodlands, known as a community where residents can "live, work, play, and pray," as The Woodlands' founder George Mitchell used to say. Congratulations to The Woodlands; I am honored to serve you in Congress!
Veterans Affairs Healthcare
Remember, with VA health care, you’re covered for regular checkups with your primary care provider and appointments with specialists (like cardiologists, gynecologists, and mental health providers). You can access Veterans health care services like home health and geriatric (elder) care, and you can get medical equipment, prosthetics, and prescriptions. Find out how to apply for and manage the health care benefits you've earned. Visit the website for more information. If you need assistance with the VA, contact one of my District offices.
Making your holiday travel plans?
Remember to check your passport and renew it in time. Most countries require your passport be valid for an additional six months from the time you enter. Here are some helpful tips.
Canceling the American Mind
The Coddling of the American Mind co-author Greg Lukianoff joins Rep. Crenshaw for a fun, wide-ranging conversation about cancel culture, the limits of free speech, and social psychology. Do some people deserve to be canceled? Should children be banned from using social media? When do political protestors cross the line? What rhetorical devices do the left and right use to derail honest debates? And how can we all use the checklist of cognitive distortions to save our own sanity? All of this and much more with one of the most articulate thinkers of our time.
Greg Lukianoff is an attorney, New York Times best-selling author, and the President and CEO of the Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression (FIRE). He is the co-author with Jonathan Haidt of "The Coddling of the American Mind" and the co-author with Rikki Schlott of "The Canceling of the American Mind."
