We're fighting in Georgia right now to protect the right to vote.

ACLU Supporter –

Huge news for voting rights, ACLU Supporter – a judge has just BLOCKED Georgia's anti-voter rule that would've required poll workers to hand-count ballots after the machines have finished. This rule was designed to introduce chaos, errors, and delays into the counting process – which is why we've been fighting so hard to stop it. But our fight isn't over: The team pushing this rule has already filed to appeal this ruling, and we're ready to meet them in court. We won't let this rule cast doubt on our elections, undermine the outcome or block the will of voters.

While my team fights in Georgia, ACLU lawyers just like me are in the other 49 states challenging any and all attempts at disenfranchising voters or undermining our fair elections. This essential work hinges on the support of people like you. Please, will you help the ACLU ensure every vote is protected by making a contribution to fund our work right now? <[link removed]>

As a lifelong Georgian and now in my role as voting rights staff attorney with the ACLU of Georgia, I have seen firsthand the repeated attempts at voter suppression happening in this state. From gerrymandering to line relief, to voter challenges, we are standing in the breach to defend the right to vote.

Earlier this year, the Board passed another new rule effectively allowing political operatives to delay election certification if they disagree with the choices made by voters.

While this rule has also been put on hold by a judge who ruled that certification is mandatory, we can expect the State Election Board to keep fighting to have their subversive rules stand.

We will continue working nonstop to challenge these unconstitutional attempts to suppress the vote of millions of Georgians. And we'll keep fighting until we win.

If you believe in our work to protect our democracy ahead of this critical election, please make a donation to the ACLU today. Your support ensures that we'll have the resources we need to protect all of our rights and civil liberties in the days ahead. <[link removed]>
