We hope you had a great week. It’s hard to believe we’re already in the second half of the month! As we marked the halfway point of the month on October 15th, we also reached the end of Hispanic Heritage Month. Each year, we love the chance to uplift and honor the contributions, impact, and achievements of the Latino community.

FINAL REMINDER: Congressional App Challenge

Do you know a young coder or an aspiring computer whiz? Registration for the 2024 Congressional App Challenge is open until October 24th! The challenge is an incredible annual opportunity for local middle and high school students to show off their STEM skills. Find more info here!

Celebrating Inspiring Community Leaders

Congressman Kim joined Women, Words, and Wisdom this week to celebrate impactful and inspiring leaders in our community. From women's healthcare access to closing the gender wage gap, we are committed to working alongside each other to deliver critical progress and uplift people across New Jersey.

Honoring Veterans Service

This week, the Department of Defense announced that over 800 veterans will receive honorable discharges after unjustly being kicked out of the military for their sexual orientation. They deserve these benefits. We applaud this incredible progress to right the wrongs of the “don’t Ask, don’t tell” policy, stand by our LGBTQ+ servicemembers, and justly honor their service to our nation.

Happy Birthday to the United States Navy!

This Sunday, we joined in wishing the U.S. Navy a very happy birthday and celebrated the bravery of all our sailors and military personnel over their 249 years of service to our nation.

NEXT WEEK: Congressman Kim’s 80th Town Hall!

Congressman Kim will be hosting his 80th town hall next week on Wednesday, October 23rd at 5 PM. He looks forward to hearing from neighbors, sharing updates from his recent work in Congress, and taking time to uplift National Bullying Awareness Month. A representative from the West Windsor/Plainsboro Regional School District will be joining to talk through the role of school counselors and anti-bullying coordinators at schools and other resources available to students and families.

Medicare Open Enrollment is OPEN

From now through December 7th, you can visit medicare.gov or call 1-800-MEDICARE to look over coverage and compare options to make sure you have a plan that’s right for you.

Through the Inflation Reduction Act, Congressman Kim is proud to have helped cap insulin costs at $35/month for seniors on Medicare and deliver critical savings on their prescription drug costs.
