John,

Hi, I'm Nabilah Islam Parkes, and I'm excited to be running for re-election in Georgia's 7th State Senate district. My friend Lucy McBath said I could reach out to tell you about my story and why this race is so critical.

In 1987, my mother immigrated to Georgia from Bangladesh, settling in public housing in Atlanta. Like many before her, she sought the American Dream, striving to provide her family with opportunities unavailable in her homeland.

Growing up, I witnessed my mother's relentless pursuit of stability, working multiple minimum-wage jobs to put food on the table. Despite long shifts and limited access to healthcare, she prioritized our well-being, even taking a rare day off to attend my school ceremony when I made straight A’s in the 4th grade.

I'm seeking re-election to continue advocating for our community here in Georgia. During my tenure as a State Senator, we've achieved significant progress, like assisting expectant mothers with Medicaid and SNAP benefits and advocating for policies to make it affordable to raise our families.

Now that you know who I am and what I stand for, I’m going to ask if you can split a donation between my campaign and Rep. McBath’s. This will be one of the toughest races in all of Georgia in 2024, and we will need to build a deep well of grassroots support if I’m going to keep this seat blue [[link removed]] → [[link removed]]

For too many Georgians, the promise of the American Dream is slipping away. Rising living costs, inadequate healthcare, and educational challenges hinder families' ability to achieve their desired quality of life.

I am running for State Senate as a voice that believes in the need to protect and continue advocating for the rights of all Georgians. I am not a politician; I am an advocate who believes in improving the lives of others and working hard every day. That is why I am relying on my grassroots supporters, just like you, to continue advocating for marginalized families and giving them the rights they deserve.

We are facing some major challenges this election year, but also some great opportunities to make history. This campaign will be difficult, as my opponents will do everything they can to push their right-wing agenda. That is why I’m counting on people like you to chip in a split donation between my campaign and Lucy McBath’s with only a few weeks until the election. [[link removed]]

With high hopes,

Nabilah Islam Parkes
