This weekend, we are coming together to celebrate a Washington Legend—both on and off the field. On Saturday morning, I will proudly present Darrell Green, two-time Super Bowl Champion and NFL Hall of Famer, with a Key to the City.
Darrell's impact is felt both in the record books and in the lives he’s touched. For decades, he has made it his purpose to give back to the community through the Green Family Foundation and other local initiatives.
Simply put, Darrell Green embodies the spirit of DC and what it means to be the District of Champions.
The Key to the City celebration, which will include live performances and a Commanders Fan Zone, kicks off a weekend of celebrating Darrell Green. The next day, on Sunday, during a special halftime ceremony, the team will retire Darrell Green’s jersey, honoring his extraordinary career and lasting contributions to the team and community.
See you on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at Franklin Park!
Sincerely,
It's almost Halloween and that means the Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) is offering frights and fun at events in all eight wards. If you are looking for safe, organized Halloween events for kids, teens, and families, DPR is hosting a wide range of activities – haunted houses, costume parades, trick-or-treating, and more.
